Description of the "Perfect for Your Spontaneous Winter Vacation!! "
2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 6
We have just spent a month at the house including Thanksgiving.. Heating oil and fire wood all set. New TV's and Dish Network box with DVR. New washer dryer. I usually do not have the home available for winter rentals but I thought I would give it a shot this season.
This home is located on a 2-lane no-outlet, paved road. The immediate are does not get much snow, but when it does, the state does what's necessary..plows the snow and/or spreads salt!.
It is W/C accessible but the modifications blend with the architecture and make regular access easier! There is a ramp to the screened porch on one side; steps on another and ground level access at a third location. The bathroom has H/C toilet, roll-in shower & pedestal sink with a door to the master bedroom creating a 'suite-like' effect offering privacy!
The brook really babbles and you can hear it when you sit on the large screened porch overlooking a wonderful southwestern view of the valley & distant mountains. DSL Internet modem and wireless router are available for use. There are two TV's, DVR, CD player, VCR and new DVD player plus an assortment of books, magazines, playing cards, dominos & board games.
Southwestern NC has so much to offer! There are great garage sales, wonderful thrift stores plus antique and gem shops. The Blue Ridge Parkway is among the most famous scenic drives that are right in the immediate area! There are many arts & crafts shops in and around the area, as well. If you go driving around, you may even run across 'FRESH EGGS FOR SALE' signs!
Of course, there's the golfing, wildly popular in Macon & Jackson Counties! For the more daring, there's kayaking, canoeing, hiking, bicycling, etc. The only things you need to bring are clothes and food and maybe your laptop. For the diehards among you, the Cherokee casino has just been enlarged AND they added a huge free, parking garage! It's only an hour away!
Discovered some good restaurants this trip. 'Cafe Rel' at the Hot Spot gas station...no joke, the place has incredible food! Gourmet...classy...tasty...unusual! 'The Cajun Connection' on Highland Road. The crab chowder was amazing. The food was not real spicy but extremely tasty. Plus they have a New Orleans beer there kept very cold! The best was the blueberry creme brulee! There are many in the area catering to every taste.
I like to receive 50% of the term rental with the confirmation. The mailing address can be provided. Otherwise, a check or cash given to my neighbor Robert will work also
Email me and ask about rates. Sometimes I get very generous and reduce the rates under certain circumstances.
